Salmon Festival 2024

What a great weekend for this year’s Salmon Festival. A well organized and entertaining event with music, comedy acts, magic and lots of fun learning sessions.

Day 1 – August 27 – started with the Salmon Pavilion Grand Opening and a hot dog roast. Later we had dinner at the community halll with entertainment from Kin Gouchie.

Day 2 – August 28 – was the official opening day for the Salmon Festival.  This was the 10th annual. We had an opening ceremony and prayer followed by a communal hike of the David Louis Trail.  There was a bear carving demonstration from Bob Morgan, and drum and rattle making sessions to attend.  The fire department had a demonstration followed by the Hypnotist show and Karaoke for the Kids in the evening.

Day 3 – August 29 – started with a breakfast at the community hall followed by a hike up RedRock.   There was a language workshop in the morning and a dreamcatchers session in the afternoon.  The evening included a Ribbon Skirt and Shirt fashion show and dinner of roast and salmon followed by Karaoke for the Adults.

Day 4 – August 30 – was a kids fun day with bouncy castles, the mini train and cotton candy. The afternoon featured glitter tattoos, photo booth and lots of music entertainment.  The festival ended with the Dance at Stella Hall.
