The Stellat’en First Nation Council is responsible for overseeing management in the performance of its financial reporting responsibilities, and for approving the consolidated financial statements. The Council fulfils these responsibilities by reviewing the financial information prepared by management and discussing relevant matters with management and external auditor. The Council is also responsible for recommending the appointment of the Nation’s external auditors.
MNP LLP was appointed by the Council to audit the consolidated financial statements and report directly to them; their report is linked in the button below.
An eagle feather symbolizes trust, honor, wisdom, and strength, acting as a sacred conduit to the Creator and carrying prayers.
While there’s no direct connection to trust in leasdership itself, the symbolism of the eagle feather highlights the spiritual and cultural significance leaders and people may choose to embody.
A leader who embodies the qualities associated with the eagle feather – wisdom, strength, and honor, fosters trust within their community.
The Stellat’en First Nation (SFN) Chief and Council have embarked on a path toward establishing a leadership governance process to ensure the highest level of integrity for the leadership while conducting business on behalf of the community, and for the community to receive the highest level of integrity from the Chief and Council elected to represent them.
We work as a team to bring opportunities to our people. We protect and promote our heritage and culture. We strive to build a safe and healthy community. We accomplish this by honoring Stellat’en values in our everyday actions to meet the needs and improve quality of life for our members.
